For the retrieval of tropospheric trace gas columns it is essential to have information on the cloud cover conditions. Both the cloud fraction and the cloud pressure are needed as input for the trace gas retrieval algorithms. The (effective) cloud fraction and cloud pressure are derived from GOME, SCIAMACHY and GOME-2 measurements with the FRESCO cloud algorithm. The OMI cloud information is derived with the OMCLDO2 algorithm.
