UV index throughout the day in De Bilt

This graph shows the clear-sky UV index value during the day, i.e. it is assumed that there are no clouds. The vertical dashed line marks local solar noon, the moment the Sun is highest in the sky, the moment for which the daily UV index is usually communicated. The WHO recommends protection for periods when the UV index -- rounded to integer values -- is 3 of higher. This period is indicated in the graph if the daily UV index is 4.0 or higher. Times are given in UTC; for summertime (wintertime) add 2 (1) hours. The background shows the WHO UV index colours. PDF file ]
