Comparison with ground-based measurements
at RIVM and KNMI and at KMI
Comparison of the
cloud-modified UV index with RIVM and KNMI UV index measurements
is based on the higher resolution (0.05 by 0.05°) data
using the location of 'De Bilt' for both institutes.
As of 08 June 2026 a comparison with KMI UV index
measurements in Uccle is also made.
The comparisons are available up to yesterday and are computed
using MSG cloud data.
From 12 August 2026 onwards, a comparison of the cloud-modified UV index
using MSG and MTG cloud data is given as well.
