Introduction

The total ozone column is a product derived from satellite measures of GOME. The tropospheric column typically contributes only about 10% to the total column. The sensitivity of the instruments for tropospheric ozone depends on aspects such as clouds and aerosols.

The convective-cloud-differential (CCD) method is used to derive a tropospheric ozone column for tropical regions from the GOME total ozone derived with the TOGOMI algorithm in combination with cloud information determined with the FRESCO cloud algorithm.
