MERIS-based albedo climatologies

Christoph Popp has made an albedo climatology based on the MERIS Albedomap data. All months per channel are in one zip files. There are also files with quality flags (one per month). The meaning of the values of the flags are:
 
0: snow/ice free land pixels
1-100: snow fraction (compiled from MODIS MOD10)
240: water pixels filled with the GOME-LER
250: filled with value from closest month
 
An IDL-Routine is available which can read the files (returns albedo*1000 or the quality flag). A description for reading the data with Fortran can be found here
Note, that the water-pixels at 865nm and 885nm are not filled with the GOME-LER since the closest channel available from GOME is at 772nm.
